Taylor Animal Shelter
This project entailed the remodel and expansion of the City of Taylor’s Animal Shelter. The project is located at 25555 Northline Road and prior to this remodel the shelter occupied 5,200 SF within the existing building. The remainder of the building is used for City’s golf course storage and the Police Departments firing range.
The 5,200 SF animal shelter was outdated, undersized, and in need of significant floor plan layout modifications. To meet the needs, appropriate for a modern animal shelter, it was determined that a new building addition would be required.
This building addition provided the space needed to address the shelter’s deficiencies and design a proper floor plan layout/flow amongst the various interior spaces. The combination of the remodeled area and building addition resulted in a 14,220 SF shelter.
In addition, site plan improvements were made to clearly define the building entry points for those visiting the facility.
