Private Residence on Burt Lake

Perched on the High Bluffs above Burt Lake, this residence was carefully sited to capture expansive nine-mile views to the north from an elevation more than 60 feet above the water. The design organizes the primary living and sleeping spaces along the lakeside façade, allowing the home to fully engage the landscape while benefiting from the balanced daylight characteristic of northern exposure.
The main level is anchored by a two-story great room that forms the visual and social center of the home, overlooked by an upper-level bridge that connects the private spaces above. Adjacent lakeside dining and a secluded sitting room with fireplace provide more intimate gathering spaces within the larger composition. A generous covered porch extends the living area outdoors and provides direct access to a stairway and tram descending the bluff to the boat dock.
The primary suite is located on the main floor and includes an en-suite bath, walk-in closets, and a soaking tub positioned to take advantage of the lake views. The upper level contains additional bedrooms, a game room, and a craft studio located within the bonus space above the garage. A partial basement accommodates a climate-controlled wine cellar designed to house more than 1,200 bottles.
In total, the residence contains approximately 5,600 square feet of living space.
