Otsego County Public Library Expansion

Following our completion of a multi-year effort for the Library’s Expansion Feasibility Study, Sidock Group provided Architectural and Engineering Design and Construction Administration Services for an expansion of the existing Library. The design meets the standards outlined in the Quality Services Audit Checklist (QSAC) for Enhanced/Excellent service for the estimated state aid service population through 2030.

The project includes expanded stack spaces, administrative offices, computer labs, community meeting rooms, children’s programming spaces, a centralized circulation desk, a reference area, young adult spaces, adult and quiet areas, and study rooms.

The site has several restrictions, being bounded on the west by a railroad, on the east by a major road, and on the north and south by private property owners. The design creatively addresses these constraints to optimize functionality and space utilization.
