Otsego County Building & Pavilion

Sidock Group, Inc. staff members have been providing professional services to Otsego County for over 20 years. Most recently, SGI provided design and construction documents and construction administration services for window and door replacements and reroofing of buildings at the Otsego County Administration and Courthouse complex over a period of three years.
The 2016 project replaced windows and doors at the County Sheriff’s Department, and the 2019 project replaced the original windows on the south facade of the Otsego County Building/Courthouse, as well as replacing the roof on the Courthouse Building (first story, second story, and clock tower) and the jail.
Earlier work (2008–2009) involved rehabilitation and renovation projects for the County Building, including structural repairs, exterior building envelope repairs and aesthetic improvements, repairs to the main entry concrete ramp and sidewalk, a handicap-accessible ramp, clock tower repairs, and interior office renovations for the Register of Deeds and County Clerk.
The exterior work entailed extensive forensic research of rot at large wood timbers and remediation of the decay.
Another signature project is the Pavilion on Court in downtown Gaylord, Michigan. Sidock Group provided architectural design services for this open-sided, 7,500-square-foot structure, which fully covers a portion of South Court Avenue. The Pavilion provides a flexible, protected space for civic, cultural, and entertainment events such as farmers markets, summer concerts, festivals, and antique shows. The painted steel and glass structure reflects Gaylord’s signature “Alpine” theme, reinforcing the city’s unique character. In 2011, retractable side curtains and radiant heat units were added to extend the Pavilion’s seasonal usability, allowing it to serve the community for more months of the year.
Together, these projects demonstrate Sidock Group’s commitment to designing functional, durable, and community-centered spaces that reflect and support the needs of Otsego County.
