Oscoda County Sheriff

Demolition of existing Sheriff’s Office and Michigan State Police Post in order to construct a new Sheriff’s Office, attached to the existing Oscoda County Building. Sidock Group, Inc. worked with the County from programming through construction including assisting with bidding and selection of a Construction Manager (CM). It was critical that the Sheriff’s office addition be attached to the County building but also provide for easy public access as well as secured access for staff and inmates. The design aesthetic is a contemporary adaptation on the existing building’s historic design. Key design and planning details include; effective use of daylighting, efficient interior planning, sustainable design principles, and incorporation of technology required for modern law enforcement. Constant collaboration with the CM through all phases of design resulted in effective constructability reviews, project budget tracking, and project scheduling in order to allow the County to see where the project stood every step of the way.
